NEDIC Eating Disorders Awareness Week Virtual Presentation
Thursday, February 15th, 2024, 10:00 – 11:30 am – via Zoom
Through our Spotting the Signs and Supporting Someone Affected workshop we will:
– Understand how the post-secondary environment could contribute to the development of
an eating disorder
– Recognize the early signs of disordered eating
– Learn strategies to respond with compassion, and support a student to get the help they
need
– Discuss eating disorder informed resources to refer to, when necessary
Speaker(s):
Emily Donahue (she/her) has a background in mental health, with a Postgraduate in Mental
Health and Addictions. She currently works at NEDIC as a community engagement facilitator with
their education and outreach team, and as a direct client support worker on their helpline. She
lives and works with an anti-oppressive, non-judgmental and person-centered mindset,
recognizing there is more than one way to achieve health and recovery.
