Capture the Flag (CTF) Society Kickoff!

We are excited to announce the kickoff session of our new Capture the Flag (CTF) Society!

What is a CTF?

A CTF is a hands-on cybersecurity competition where participants solve challenges that simulate real-world security problems. These range from cryptography, forensics, and reverse engineering to web exploitation and network defense. The goal is to learn by doing – working together to “capture flags” (hidden codes) that prove you solved the problem. CTFs are widely used in universities, industry, and international competitions to build skills and experience.

October 14, 2025 @ 2:30 – 3:15 pm

Location – HA235

Kickoff Agenda:

  • Introduction to CTFs and the types of challenges you’ll encounter.
  • Establishing student society roles (e.g., President, Vice President, Secretary, Lab Coordinator).
  • Team formation and discussion of how we’ll practice and compete together

Whether you’re new to cybersecurity or already experienced, this society is a great way to build skills, meet like-minded peers, and prepare for competitions at regional and national levels.
