Discussions on Research Collaboration on Wellness with Partner University of Porto, Portugal

Posted on: Dec 22, 2016

Dr. Barbara van Ingen, Dean of Students, went to our partner University of Porto, Portugal, on an Erasmus+ scholarship last October. She has started contacts in view of research collaboration and writes:

“Prior to travelling to Porto, I made contact with Dr. Jorge Mota and Dr. Jose Oliveira, professors and researchers with The Research Centre in Physical Activity, Health and Leisure (Centro de Investigacao em Actividade Fisica, Saude e Lazer) CIAFEL. We are considering a possible research collaborations between CIAFEL and the Wellness Research Cluster, focused on the epidemiology of physical activity and sedentary behaviors with Dr. Mota and his team of researchers. Dr. Brent Bradford (CUE, co-chair of the Research Cluster on Wellness) and I are following up with the colleagues in January”.

Good news and proud to be part of the ERASMUS+ program with our partners in Portugal! Dr. Danielle Lisboa (CUE Music Department) has been selected to go to an Erasmus+ week at University of Porto in 2017, where she will be working on research with sociologist Dr. Paula Guerra (UPorto), and soon we will announce more news yet about Portugal and Erasmus+ opportunities.
