CUE Student Receives Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Historian Award

Posted on: Mar 12, 2019

The Lieutenant Governor’s History and Heroes Foundation was founded by Her Honour, the Honourable Lois Mitchell CM, AOE, LLD, to inspire Albertans to understand Alberta’s past and its place in Canadian history.  The Foundation has developed initiatives and programs, on its own and in collaboration with other agencies, to increase learning and understanding of our collective Alberta past.  One such initiative is a new $1,500 award named the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Historian Award.  Post-secondary institutions in Alberta were invited to participate in the inaugural year of the award.  The Financial Aid and Awards office is pleased to announce that Benji Smith, a Bachelor of Arts student studying history, is the winner of Concordia’s competition.  Congratulations Benji!
