CUE issues travel advisory for all non-essential business travel this summer

Posted on: Jul 5, 2022

CUE is advising employees to avoid making new bookings for business travel for July and August wherever possible. This decision was made as Canadian travellers are currently being impacted by a high volume of flight cancellations and delays and a lack of available hotel accommodations. Air Canada has issued a travel advisory and it is anticipated that other airlines may do the same.

If you can postpone your trip or attend an event online instead of in person, you are advised to do so. This is to prevent any significant unanticipated expenses to both CUE and employees who are impacted by any flight disruptions. Please note that this advisory does not impact employees who have already booked travel for July and August.

If you have a work-related trip that requires travel in July or August, please ensure that you book directly through an airline and not through a third party such as Expedia.

For more information about booking travel, please review CUE’s travel procedure. If you have any questions, please contact Finance at finance@concordia.ab.ca.
