Posted on: Apr 8, 2021The Canadian Research and Knowledge Network (CRKN) includes 81 institutions from across Canada. In addition to supporting Canadian research collaboration and digital infrastructure, CRKN also provides its research institutions with substantial licensing advocacy.
As a member of CRKN, Concordia University of Edmonton is pleased to share the details of the Elsevier ScienceDirect license renewal for 2021 – 2023. CRKN has negotiated a 12.5% price reduction for this database and 20% decrease in article processing charges for Elsevier’s hybrid and gold open access journals. This license will benefit multiple faculties at CUE, as ScienceDirect covers many prominent academic journals in both the sciences and the social sciences. The financial savings resulting from CRKN’s negotiations will help CUE Library to offset price increases for other academic databases.
