COVID-19 Update: What to expect returning to campus this fall

Posted on: Aug 15, 2022

Dear CUE community,

The fall term is quickly approaching and we are busy across CUE getting ready to welcome students back to school. I’d like to share more on how we are preparing for a safe and successful return to campus.

Given the current pandemic situation in Alberta, we are pleased to confirm that we are planning for a full return to campus and all in-person courses will proceed as scheduled.

The health and safety of our community continues to be a top priority for us. Please pay attention to the following precautions to keep our community healthy and to minimize any disruptions to learning.

Although you are no longer required by the province to isolate, it is recommended that you do not come to campus if you have core symptoms or if you have tested positive for COVID-19. Please see the Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidance for isolation recommendations. We ask students to work with their instructors to manage their absences and employees should work with their supervisors.

Masking and physical distancing will not be enforced on campus; however, both practices will continue to be recommended wherever possible. While proof of vaccination is not required to be on our campus, we encourage everyone to be fully vaccinated and to receive their boosters. Please refer to the AHS recommendations for more information on how to protect yourself and others from COVID-19, including regularly monitoring for symptoms and practicing good hygiene.

CUE will continue to maintain a number of protocols on campus including plexiglass barriers, enhanced cleaning and making hand sanitizer available.

As always, we will continue to monitor the pandemic, public health guidance, and the needs of our community. We are prepared to adjust CUE’s response as needed in order to prioritize the health and safety of our campus community.

Thank you in advance for doing your part to keep our campus safe. I look forward to seeing everyone in person, and to experiencing the vibrant campus that makes CUE so special.

Sincerely,

Tim Loreman, PhD.
