Concordia University of Edmonton's Drama Department welcomes all students interested in theatre to attend this fall's Drama Retreat. All participants should wear comfortable clothing (sweats/yoga gear).
9:30 to 10 a.m. – Coffee and welcome
10 to 10:30 a.m. – Warm-up with Michelle Rios
Michelle will warm us up for the day and share ways to warm up prior to a class, audition or performance
10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Shakespeare 101 with Chris Bullough
Intimidated by the Bard? Chris, who is directing A Midsummer Night’s Dream for CUE in the Winter term, will introduce working with Shakespearean text.
12 to 1:30 p.m. – Physical Theatre with Amber Borotsik
Amber is a choreographer, director, dancer and actor. This workshop will introduce improvised physical theatre
1:30 to 2:15 p.m. – Lunch in the cafeteria (provided)
2:15 to 2:45 p.m. – Meet the Faculty Q & A Panel
Get to know the Faculty – this is a change to ask Josiah Hiemstra, Caroline Howarth, Randy Ritz and Michelle Rios questions about theatre and their experiences working as actors, directors, teachers, techs and producers • Everything You Need to Know about Theatre at CUE
2:45 to 4 p.m. – Annual Drama Department scavenger hunt and games
