Catalytic Converter Theft in Z Lot yesterday morning

Another vehicle had a catalytic converter stolen in the Z Lot of yesterday morning around 9am. Concordia students heard some power tools in the lot and discovered the suspect in the photo stealing the converter. He left very quickly and the police were called with a good description of the vehicle and the suspect. Thanks so much to the students who safely intervened and probably prevented this suspect from returning to the lot another day.
The suspect is described as White, mid 30’s with blonde ginger hair, with a beard, 5′-7″ – 5′-10″, slightly husky build. He was driving a newer Huyndai Elantra around 2013, Grey, estimated plate number seen in photo below N-9 930 not a AB plate.
If you see the vehicle or suspect contact the Edmonton Police Service nonurgent line on 780 423-4567 or if a crime is in progress call 911. Concordia security continues to patrol the Z Lot in addtion to Expo Security. Addtionaly your help in calling security when you see a supisious person or the police when a crime is in progress will improve this situation.
