Centre for Chinese Studies Welcomes Capital Normal University Students to Campus

Posted on: Jul 5, 2019

The Centre for Chinese Studies (CCS) at Concordia University of Edmonton is pleased to announce the arrival of the first group of Chinese students. This group consists of 23 international students and 1 supervisor from Capital Normal University. They had a long journey from Beijing, China and are now looking forward to their 3-month stay in Edmonton.

The students will take an academic enrichment course and a drama course, then will take credit courses such as PACT 240, PESS 293, and EDU 199.

Aside from academics, the summer program also gives the students a chance to have fun, relax, and explore Edmonton. They will attend cultural events such as K-Days, Shakespeare in the Park, and even a trip to the Rocky Mountains. On the first weekend, the students will head to the River Valley, conveniently located just steps from Founders residence, where they are staying. They will also visit Whyte Avenue’s Street Performers Festival and Art Walk.

The students are excited to experience everything that Concordia and Canada have to offer. Hopefully, the summer program will be a memorable introduction to international study abroad, and will inspire them for a lifetime of exploration.

The CCS and the students of Capital Normal University would like to thank the departments across campus for their ongoing support. It takes a mighty team to organize and care for the students’ experience as much as you do!
