Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA)
Category: Current Students, Science
Value: $9000
Application Deadline: February 1
Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) are meant to stimulate your interest in research in the natural sciences and engineering and encourage you to undertake graduate studies in these fields. If you would like to gain research work experience in an academic setting that complements your studies, these awards can provide you with financial support through your host university. NSERC encourages qualified Indigenous students to apply to this program.
NEW The Government of Canada has announced new funding to strengthen the research capacity of Black scholars. A portion of the funding will help address the disproportionate underfunding of Black scholars at the undergraduate level and will contribute to making Canada’s research culture more equitable, diverse and inclusive. Concordia will have one allocation for a SSHRC USRA. SSHRC applicants will apply to the program using the NSERC online system and must self-identify as Black.
