Posted on: Dec 17, 2020The Office of Research Services, in support of CUE’s newest Research Cluster, the Scholars Countering Intersectional Racism and Oppression (SCIRO) Research Cluster, is glad to invite you to join us for their first Salon Series event. This event will feature discussions surrounding experiences of racism and oppression as well as ways in which institutions can move towards engaging with anti-racism and anti-oppression.
Welcome remarks by Dr. Valerie Henitiuk, Vice-President Academic & Provost, followed with talks by Elder Philip Campiou and Dr. Asma Syed.

About the speakers:
Elder Phillip Campiou is a Traditional Woodland Cree who is originally from Driftpile First Nation, Alberta. He now resides in the Stony Plain area.
Dr. Asma Syed, Canada Research Chair in South Asian Literary and Cultural Studies in the Department of English, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Chair of the KPU’s Task Force on Antiracism.
