Two weeks left to register for the March 2022 Student Research Café!

Posted on: Mar 8, 2022

The Office of Research Services is pleased to announce the March 2022 edition of the Student Research Café series!

Please RSVP here to join us for this event on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at noon in the BMO Centre for Innovation and Applied Research (AW125).

What is the Student Research Café?

The Student Research Café provides an opportunity for students and researchers to meet informally, and for students to engage directly with researchers.

Students will be invited to ask questions about topics ranging from research in an academic environment to career choices and entrepreneurial opportunities.

This month, students will have the chance to meet with Dr. Samuel Mugo.

Speaker Profile

Dr. Samuel Mugo graduated with a PhD in analytical chemistry from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2006. He then took a two-year NSERC postdoctoral position at Queens University, and he has been at MacEwan University since 2008.

Dr. Mugo teaches chemistry, physical science field skills, and independent research courses, and he actively engages undergraduate students in research.

His research is focused on developing ‘smart’ polymer nanomaterials for wearable sensors, which can be used for health and wellness monitors and in agri-food and environmental analytics.

This event series is organized by the Office of Research Services. Research at Concordia University of Edmonton is supported in part by the Research Support Fund, a Tri-Agency initiative that assists Canadian post-secondary institutions with costs associated with managing research funded by the federal research granting agencies. Concordia University of Edmonton acknowledges the value of this support and appreciates this ongoing research investment.
