Two Spirit Talk and Indigenous Queer/Ally Circle
Posted on: Mar 10, 2020To expand on the learning and celebration of CUE’s Pride Day 2020, the Indigenous Knowledge and Research Centre invites to you to attend the following:
Wednesday, March 11th in the IKRC (AW124)
10:30am – Two Spirit Workshop
Two Spirit is a term used by many Indigenous people across Turtle Island. Lets reflect on and acknowledge the history behind this term as well as explore how vital two spirit people are in bringing balance to our communities, how to support this community as a non-two spirit and how we can individually decolonize ourselves, our spaces and respect Indigenous protocols and ways of being. Facilitated by Gabe Castilloux Calderón (they/them).
1:00pm – Two Spirit Bundle and Teachings
This event will center two spirit and Indigenous LGBTQ+ folks in sharing about two spirit bundles as well as teachings on two spirit and what this role means for us in our communities. Non-two spirit people will be asked to watch and listen and give space to the two spirit folks present.
