Thunder Hockey Conclude Preseason with a Win

Posted on: Sep 21, 2015

This weekend the Concordia Thunder Men's Hockey team closed out the preseason playing a pair of home games. On Friday night the Thunder dropped a 5 to 2 decision to the Portage Voyageurs. The bright spot of the game for the Thunder was the play of second year defenseman Brandon Halls who scored both goals for the Thunder.
Saturday night the Thunder hosted the defending BCIHL Champion Selkirk College Saints. The Thunder bounced back from the disappointment of Friday night with their most complete performance of the preseason with a 6 to 4 win. Rhys Hadfield got the win in net for the Thunder stopping 27 shots. The Thunder spread the scoring out as Phil Dillon, Tyler Stevenson, Filiph Bystrom, Dave Randall, Estevan Hale and Brandon Halls all recorded goals. The Thunder will open the ACAC regular season next weekend against the Red Deer College Kings with games in Penhold on Friday night and back home at Clareview on Saturday night. The puck drops for the home game at 8:15 PM.  Good luck Thunder!
