Dr. Joanna Merkel spent a month and a half volunteering with the Palestinian NGO Project Hope-Peace and Education in Palestine, founded in 2003 at the
peak of the second intifada, when Nablus was under siege. In this presentation, she will offer a a brief and accessible introduction to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since its beginning in the 20th century as well as a description of the work she did there.
