Research conducted in Western European countries and the United States indicates the growing importance of alternative finance in financing individuals, non-governmental organizations, informal groups, and enterprises in the initial stages of development.

The aim of the talk is to present the origins and systematics of alternative finance, and their location in the discipline of economics and finance, as well as a cross-sectional presentation of the directions of research conducted in the area of alternative finance.

Dr. Dominika Kordela is currently an assistant professor at the Institute of Economics and Finance of The University of Szczecin, Poland, where she has been a Scientific Council member since 2019. She received her Ph.D. degree in economics based on a thesis on alternative markets. Her research interests focus on alternative markets, alternative finance, and SME financing. She has experience teaching various courses in the finance field, also at foreign universities. Dr. Kordela is going to visit CUE from October 16 to 20, 2023.
