Dissecting a Cyber Attack – A walkthrough along the Cyber Kill Chain

The cyber kill chain comprises a sequence of steps that delineate the stages of a cyberattack, spanning from initial reconnaissance to the deployment of full-blown ransomware and the exfiltration of data. In this presentation, we will conduct triage on several real-world attack scenarios, retracing the attackers steps to uncover their origins and aligning them with the stages of the kill chain. We will also outline measures to mitigate such attacks or, in other words, have a short discussion on how to end cyber risks.
