miyo pimatisiwin project – 6 spots remaining!

Posted on: Jan 27, 2020

As part of CUE’s commitment to decolonization, Indigenization and reconciliation, the IKRC has created a process where participants may enter a series of sacred circles to deepen understanding of Indigenous peoples, experiences, histories, loss, worldviews and resiliency. This will be to advance the work the province is undertaking in Anti-Racism.

Originally, this opportunity was open to faculty only but we have opened 6 additional seats to those who are interested in participating from other areas of the University. The time commitment is approximately 30 hours in total, including reflections, pre-circle work, circle discussion, field trips and interviews. An artist will also be capturing our journey together through a visual piece which will be displayed on our campus. Participants will be asked to champion future anti-racism, decolonization and Indigenization efforts through their professional roles and committee work.

Ask your supervisor if you are interested in participating! Contact Danielle at danielle.powder@concordia.ab.ca or 780-479-9394 if you have any questions or would like to sign up for one of the seats. Deadline is January 31st (end of day).
