Hockey Drops Two to Top Ranked Vikings

Posted on: Oct 26, 2015

This weekend the Thunder faced one of the top teams in the ACAC, the Augustana Vikings. Friday night the Thunder played very well on the road in Camrose. Brady Bakke tied the game mid-way through the second period and the game remained tied at 1 through the rest of regulation time. In overtime, the Thunder traded chances with the Vikings and unfortunately for Concordia the Vikings found a winning goal with 10 seconds left. Connor Dobberthien was excellent in his first start of the year, turning away 42 shots.
Saturday night the Thunder returned home, hoping to return the favour to the Vikings from the night before. However the Thunder struggled to a 5 to 2 loss. Tyler Stevenson and Adam Moghrabi contributed with goals for the Thunder and Connor Dobberthien had another strong performance in the net. The Thunder are on a bye next week before heading to Briercrest to face the Clippers in the first weekend of November.
