InfoSec Seminar – April 2025

The Information Systems Security and Assurance Management (ISSAM) Department in Mihalcheon School of Management proudly invites you to the monthly InfoSec Seminar.

Talk Description

Cyberterrorism and Cybercrime Intelligence: Understanding and Countering Digital Threats

This talk will explore how terrorist organizations and cybercriminals exploit digital platforms to launch attacks, spread propaganda, and fund operations using tools like ransomware, phishing, and disinformation campaigns. Gain insight into the evolving threat landscape, including real-world case studies such as the 2007 Estonia cyberattack, the 2015 Ukraine power grid hack, and recent attacks on NATO and Israel. Discover how intelligence-led threat hunting, international collaboration, and proactive cyber defense strategies can help mitigate these complex and growing threats. This session is essential for security professionals, policymakers, and business leaders seeking to strengthen their organization’s resilience in an increasingly hostile digital world.
