Concordia's president, Dr. Gerald Krispin, has signed an agreement with a new partner in China: CUE and the Southwest University (SWU) in Chongqing, China, signed a visiting student agreement, by which SWU will send degree seeking students to CUE. In a second phase both institutions will sign a student and faculty exchange agreement. SWU offers 30 majors taught in English language, as well as free 2-week summer language and cultural immersions for the balance of the student exchange. Initial areas of interest have been identified as education, applied psychology, biological science, biotechnology, environmental science and history. A representative from SWU visited CUE yesterday. This is one more concrete step of Concordia reaching out to Asia and the BRIC and we look forward to receive and send students and faculty to SWU.
