Congratulations to CUE’s very first Chancellor, Hon. Allan Wachowich, on receiving Alberta’s highest honour and being inducted into the Alberta Order of Excellence yesterday. Her Honour, Lois Mitchell, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, presided over the ceremony at Government House.

We are thrilled and proud of our Polish Prince for his lifelong commitment and contributions to our CUE community, to Edmonton and to Alberta.

During his time as Chancellor, Hon. Allan Wachowich was instrumental in moving the university towards inclusivity of all students, limiting barriers of entry, and creating the necessary infrastructure and environment needed to realize CUE’s goal of becoming Canada’s pre-eminent small university. He has a keen focus on empowering young adults to live out their potential and make their personal difference in the world.

Concordia recently announced that our new building, the Allan Wachowich Centre for Science, Research, and Innovation, is being named in his honour.
