Season Starts with End of an Era

Concordia Thunder’s hockey opener this past Friday (Sept 28) not only marked the beginning of the season for our fantastic hockey team, but also Mike Wade’s final act as Chair of the Board of Governors. Mike has ended two very successful terms as Board Chair, having provided solid leadership and guidance through critical times of change at Concordia.
As a farewell gift, Mike was given the honour of opening the hockey season with the ceremonial puck drop at Clareview Arena at Thunder’s first hockey game of the season against the MacEwan Griffins, after being presented with a team jersey. Sadly, the nail-biting game ended with a score of 5-2 for the Griffins (read the game coverage here), but we’re certain we’ll see Mike sporting his Thunder jersey at future games!
