Men’s Soccer Tied for Final Playoff Spot

The Thunder Men's Soccer team split this weekend's results, losing away to NAIT on Saturday 2-Nil and winning emphatically 5-Nil at home to GPRC on Sunday. "NAIT, nationally ranked (in the) top 10, are very skillful especially in attack," stated Head Coach Ian Skitch. "Being in the game, down 1 until the 86th minute tells the group they can compete and builds a bit of confidence." Goaltender Adam Ziccarelli enjoyed the clean sheet Sunday to help boost the squad's Goal Difference to plus 4 on the year-to-date. "This is a big number considering where we were at at this point last year."
Next weekend are two "Cup Finals"; first away to Kings – who are tied with the Thunder for the final playoff position – on Saturday, then home Sunday for the return match vs NAIT. The Thunder need something from these games to qualify for the ACAC Championship.
