Concordia Symphony Orchestra presents LAUDIS! GLORIA!
Posted on: Jan 27, 2015Monday, February 2 – 7:30p.m. – Francis Winspear Centre for Music
Concordia's choral ensembles – the Concert Choir, Community Chorus, and Bella Voce Women’s Choir – join the Concordia Symphony Orchestra and conductor David Hoyt to present Mozart’s final masterpiece, the sublime Requiem in D minor.
The weight of the funeral mass is balanced with a majestic Gloria by contemporary American composer Mark Hayes. The program is rounded out with the energy of Spanish dance in Capriccio Espagnol by Rimsky Korsakov.
This concert features guest soloists Jolaine Kerley (soprano), Mireille Rijavec (mezzo-soprano), Caleb Nelson (tenor), and Michael Kurschat (bass)
Tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for students/seniors (plus applicable service charges), and are available from the Winspear Box Office 780-428-1414, and at the door.
