Incident Readiness, Incident Response and the importance of Endpoint Detection and Response tools
The talk will cover the Incident Response lifecycle. Arafa Anis will go into detail about incident Preparedness or Incident Readiness and what it entails for an information security team. She will share experiences about her work in different organizations in helping them prepare for incidents. The talk will also include introduction to the Endpoint Detection and Response tool and how it can be used by organizations to improve their security posture and respond faster to incidents

About the Speaker
Arafa Anis
DFIR Consultant, Advanced Cyber Threat Services, McAfee Inc.
Arafa is a Blue Teamer, Incident Responder and SecOps specialist with passion for defensive security. At present she is working at McAfee on the Advanced Cyber Threat Services team as a DFIR consultant. Before that, she was working at PwC as an Incident Response consultant. Her experience in the cyber security world includes leading real time incident response, helping organizations plan for incidents, providing training to incident responders and building and governing security operations teams among others
InfoSec Seminar Series
This monthly seminar series will provide high level presentations about various research directions and technology trends in the field of Information Systems Security and Assurance Management. The seminar series will be open to anyone who is interested in security research and technologies, not only to Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) members. The seminars will be held on the second Thursday between 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM
