Session 1 – Mental Health & Wellness – Dr. Barb van Ingenmeet.google.com/xwn-uvym-gjj

Dr. Barb van Ingen, CUE’s Vice-President, Student Life and Learning and a Registered Psychologist, will present on helping instructors prioritize their own wellbeing and learn more about supporting student mental health and wellness. The presentation starts with a discussion of mental health and wellness and looks at ways to promote resilience. The training then provides advice on how to recognize and respond to a student in distress and how to refer students to supports.

30-minute CUE Stew

Prepare for the most intense 30 minutes of your professional career! This session will walk you through a stew of tips, strategies and ideas intended to get you excited and confident about 2021/22 at CUE. We’ll touch on resources for instructors, first-day strategies, flexible and blended delivery, student engagement, and more. Come hungry and ready to learn!

In this session I will take 30 minutes to show you the basics of using Moodle. You’ll learn how to navigate the system, organize your semester, and learn some best practices for adding content to your course. There’s something for seasoned Moodle users as well! I’ll show you how to set up Moodle’s Lesson Activity so you can create learning pathways to scaffold and sequence your content.
