You’re invited to participate in CUE’s new Mental Health and Wellness Strategy!

Posted on: Sep 7, 2022

Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) is committed to promoting health and wellness to the entire CUE community. Our goal is to embed wellness in everything we do. We seek to improve efficiency by centralizing the work already happening and streamlining goals and projects.

To help reach our goal, CUE is developing a Mental Health & Wellness Strategy. The strategy will allow more opportunities for CUE community members to get involved and work on meaningful projects which will further CUE’s wellness and Vision 2027 goals.

Priority areas have been identified (based on data from student and employee surveys, focus groups and the completion of an internal audit tool) and working groups, each led by a respective Champion, have been created to address current health and wellness trends.

Working Groups include:

Active Living – will support a more active campus and CUE community

Food & Nutrition – will support the nutritional well-being and food security of all CUE community members

Harm Reductionwill create a supportive campus environment that assists in the reduction of harms associated with high-risk environments and high-risk behaviours

Social & Mental Wellness – will support the well-being of all CUE community members and acknowledge well-being as a fundamental aspect of a thriving, engaged, and healthy academic community

Transformative Inclusion, Diversity & Equity – will support the diversity, inclusion and equity strategies and implementation at CUE, aligning with the aspirations of CUE’s EDI framework that recognizes a healthy campus as an inclusive campus

Workplace Wellness – will support employee health and wellness at CUE by developing strategies, educational opportunities and activities designed to enhance connection across the community while positively impacting employee health and wellness

Marketing & Communications – will support the working groups by creating coordinated communications to engage the CUE community with the strategy and the programs, activities and services

Projects have already begun in several working groups. Are you passionate about any of these areas?  Want to join a working group?  Contact the appropriate Champion below before September 12th!
