Thunder Men’s Volleyball Over-matched in Tussle with the King’s Eagles
Posted on: Feb 1, 2016After competing so fiercely in recent weeks, the Thunder Men's Volleyball team had a disappointing weekend as the guys didn't have their best efforts on either night against a solid King's University squad. On Friday night at home, the Thunder came out of the gate with a lot of momentum and pushed the Eagles to within two points of a first set victory but lost all that momentum in the 2nd set and limped to a 3-0 loss with set scores of 25-23, 25-14 and 25-14. On Saturday night, the team travelled across the river to King's and the change of venue gave the Thunder a more competitive spark but they were still not able to solve the Eagles' offense and went down in straight sets once again 25-20, 25-20 and 25-19. "Some of the younger players got a chance to see the court and performed admirably which shines a small light on what was (overall), a disappointing weekend for us," lamented Head Coach Lucas Jacobson. "We have two weeks to prepare for our final two weekends of competition and hope to perform at a level that will give us confidence going into the offseason and into next year."
The Thunder will enjoy a bye this coming weekend before taking on the NAIT Ooks on February 12th and 13th.
