Thunder Men’s Soccer In Tough in MacEwan Rematch

Posted on: Oct 7, 2013

The Concordia Thunder Men's Soccer team quite simply took it on the chin in this past weekend's rematch with the MacEwan Griffins.  The team's defensive concept all but completely broke down and they could not get anything going on the offensive side of the ball.  Consequently, the Thunder were handed their most lopsided defeat in many years. In spite of the rough ride in this weekend's action, at 4-4 the Thunder are still tied for the third and final playoff spot.  With the traditional Thanksgiving break in the ACAC soccer schedule, the team will have two weeks of practice to make the final weekend push when they head to NAIT on Saturday, October 19th to play the Ooks before finishing off the season at home on the 20th against the GPRC Wolves: a matchup which may well decide the final playoff spot.
