The CCS welcomes a new colleague from China
Posted on: Oct 23, 2017The Centre for Chinese Studies is excited to welcome Ms. Ruiqing (Rachel) Wang — a Chinese visiting teacher from China. Ruiqing has been an instructor in English Linguistics in the School of Foreign Languages, Yantai University, Shandong Province, China for almost twenty years with a Master’s degree majoring in English linguistics from Shandong University. She loves teaching and is loved by her students because she is a dedicated teacher with all her heart and soul. She has received Outstanding Teacher Award in Yantai University for three times in the past five years. The courses she taught in Yantai University include College English Intensive Reading, Extensive Reading, Listening and Speaking, A Video English Course, A Survey of Chinese Culture and so on. She loves reading, watching movies, traveling, sports, and music. Ruiqing looks forward to her two years at CUE and in Canada.
CUE thanks Hanban (the Chinese Language Council International) and the Confucius Institute in Edmonton for the support in bringing the first Chinese visiting teacher. Ms. Ruiqing Wang will work at CCS as a full time staff and instructor from October 2017 to September 2019. A non-credit Chinese language course for CUE staff, faculty and public will be offered by Ruiqing, starting from Tuesday Oct. 31.
