Student Research Grants – seven days left!

Posted on: Mar 8, 2021
Important for the March 2021 competition

Due to COVID-19, all travel-related grants have been suspended. If an application includes travel, it will be removed from the competition.

Student Research Grants

The Student Research Grant March 2021 competition is open. The deadline for applications to this Student Research Grant program is March 15th, 2021 at 11:59 pm. There will be no extensions to the deadline and no applications will be processed after the deadline has passed.

Research Supervisors are highly encouraged to assist students in completing the application form.

Undergraduate students are eligible to apply for up to $1,500 per year. Graduate students are eligible to apply for up to $2,000 per year. Students are limited to one successful application in any twelve-month period.

How to apply

Completed forms must be submitted electronically as a single PDF file to research@concordia.ab.ca. Applications that do not comply with the requirements will be removed from the competition.

For guidance on how to combine files into a single PDF document, CUE Research recommends the use of the combine feature of Adobe Acrobat (if available), or printing-scanning documents into a single PDF. There are additional options available elsewhere.

Eligible activities

Student research grants support direct costs for research activities including research publication fees, expenditures related to research projects, registration fees only for conferences that are held online, or similar activities approved by the Research and Faculty Development Committee. Expenses related to travel for research dissemination at conferences are ineligible until further notice. The sponsoring faculty member is expected to be involved in the research as a co-author.

The budget of an application is subject to confirmation of eligibility of expenses by the Office of Research Services, prior to adjudication.
