Recognition Week 2022: Awards

This week, we are recognizing members of the CUE community who have shown kindness, empathy, and resiliency over the past year. We are also celebrating milestones and our retirees who have given their time and energy to our community, and impacted the lives of countless students and employees.

 

 

 

 

 

Celebrating Our Award Recipients

Today, we are proud to announce recipients of our four annual awards:

  • CUE Excellence in Teaching Award, Sessional Instructor
  • Judith C. Meier Excellence in Teaching Award
  • Gerald S. Krispin Research Award
  • Extra Mile Award

CUE Excellence in Teaching Award, Sessional Instructor

The CUE Excellence in Teaching Award, Sessional Instructor was presented to Shawn Thompson. Shawn was recognized for his teaching style and the expertise he brings to the classroom. Students love the passion he has for his field and thank him for teaching them valuable real-world skills for their careers. Congratulations and thank you, Shawn.

Judith C. Meier Excellence in Teaching Award

The Judith C. Meier Excellence in Teaching Award was presented to Dr. Xin Chen. Dr. Chen was recognized for his approachability and ability to listen. Students admire his unique ability to inspire curiosity and critical thinking. His enthusiasm for teaching and his love for ecology provides a positive impact on their experience at CUE. His commitment to student success is appreciated. Congratulations and thank you, Xin.

  

Gerald S. Krispin Research Award

The Gerald S. Krispin Research Award was presented to Dr. Cecilia Bukutu. Dr. Bukutu was recognized for her impact in the field of public health and at CUE. Her passion and dedication is an incredible inspiration to our students, researchers, and educators. Congratulations and thank you, Cecilia.

Extra Mile Award

The Extra Mile Award was presented to Dr. Isha Katyal. Isha was recognized as a dedicated advocate for students, staff, faculty, and our research centres. Her neverending can-do attitude and infectious optimism are to be commended. She is always looking for opportunities to elevate CUE and to showcase the amazing work both internally and externally.
