Recent Data Security “Fire Drill”

Recently, CUE faculty & staff received a targeted phishing email from an external source. In this instance, that phishing email was part of a broader data security assessment that CUE has undertaken. While anyone who followed the instructions in that email should, of course, change their passwords, we would like everyone to know that in this case there was no active threat to our security. The information gathered throughout this assessment will, however, aid us greatly in understanding our strengths and weaknesses, and can be thought of much like a “fire drill.”
Faculty & staff will be receiving an email shortly discussing the phishing email; please keep an eye out for this message and review it at your earliest convenience.
