OWL Internship Opportunities 2024
Students enrolled at Concordia University of Edmonton, MacEwan University, NAIT and University of Alberta can participate in a study abroad exchange or an internship program as part of the OWL Consortium Agreement. This agreement partners Alberta post-secondary institutions with partner universities in Germany, which are University of Bielefeld, FH Bielefeld University of Applied Science, Paderborn University, and Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences. This past spring in 2023, we were pleased to have 3 CUE students participate in internship opportunities in Germany.
Internship applications for 2024 are now open! Please find the opportunities for 2024 below.
1) Internship Opportunities at Paderborn University.
- Paderborn University, Faculty of Arts and Humanities
- Paderborn University, Direct Manufacturing Research Center
- Paderborn University, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Particle Technology Group
Please note the following application deadlines for Paderborn University:
- October 15, 2023 for an internship from ca. May 1 – Aug 15, 2024
- April 15, 2024 for an internship from ca. Sept 1 – Dec 15, 2024.
2) Internship Opportunities at HSBI (Hochschule Bielefeld – University of Applied Sciences and Arts).
- TPÜ GmbH in collaboration with HSBI (TPÜ is Technical Testing and Monitoring Company for students studying Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive
- HSBI, Center for Applied Data Science (CfADS)
- HSBI, Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics
- HSBI, International Office (for students with a strong interest in international academic exchange)
Please note the following application deadlines for HSBI:
- The closing date for the internship in the HSBI international office is December 8, 2023. The other internship hosts accept applications on a rolling basis.
- Students who are eligible for the Youth Mobility Visa or who are an EU citizen should apply at least 3 months prior to the desired starting date. All other students should apply for an internship at least 5-6 months prior to the desired starting date.
