Join us for Pride Week 2023 at CUE

Posted on: Mar 6, 2023

Pride Week kicked off with a bang this week with a Pride Parade on Monday, March 6, followed by the Ceremonial Flag Raising outside Schwermann Hall.

At the start of March each year CUE celebrates the diversity of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, and we encourage everyone to take pride in who they are, no matter their identity. The flag being raised at CUE today represents the full visible spectrum of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and creating a culture of inclusion and respect. Join us in this important symbol of togetherness.

There is an exciting calendar of events planned throughout the week, through the collaborative efforts of the CUE Pride Association, the CSA, CUE Wellness, and the North Side Pride Collaborative – all events will encompass a shared theme, entitled “Queer Joy”.

Mid-week mark, your calendar for two fun events at the Tegler. On Wednesday, take a break from your studies and relax at the Cozy Café for some fun games beginning at 3 p.m., and, this Friday, get creative and share what Queer Joy means to you while you paint your imagination on canvas between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

If you never had a chance to celebrate prom because of the pandemic, now is your time to shine. Head to the thrift store and be creative choosing a prom outfit, then head to Retro Queer Prom at the Citadel Theatre on Friday night at 8 p.m. There will be lively entertainment including DJs, drag and burlesque performers.
