International Women’s Day

In honour of International Women’s Day, the Mihalcheon School of Management held its 3rd annual event today, hosted by the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Dr. Alison Yacyshyn. 

The theme for this year’s #IWD2020 event was #EachforEqual. Greetings to the audience were provided by Concordia University of Edmonton’s (CUE) President, Dr. Tim Loreman, who spoke highly of the women in his life, including his wife, daughter, CUE Vice-President Academic and Provost (Dr. Valerie Henitiuk), CUE Vice-President of Student Life & Learning (Dr. Barbara van Ingen), and CUE Dean of the Faculty of Management (Dr. Alison Yacyshyn).

Special speakers for the event were: 

Brenda Barron, BSc: Senior Systems Architect, National HPC / HPCDA Team, IBM Canada Ltd

Diana Shaw, PhD: ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) – Edmonton Chapter President

Erinn Jacula, MPE: Concordia University of Edmonton Women’s Volleyball Coach

The three talented women shared their journeys of success, hard work, and leadership to a packed venue in the Arnold Guebert Library.
