Final Round of the CSO Concerto Competition for Concordia Fellows

The final round of the Concordia Symphony Concerto Competition for Concordia Fellows will take place on Saturday, April 30th at 9:30 a.m. Our three finalists will compete for a chance to play as soloists with the orchestra in the 2022-2023 season. The winner will also receive a competition honorarium in the amount of $1,000, kindly donated by the Alberta Chinese Cultural Society.
 
The repertoire features Copland’s Concerto for Clarinet and String Orchestra (Amber Campbell), Prokofiev’s violin concerto no.1 (Allan Nelson), and Vaughan-Williams’ Oboe Concerto (Stephanie Wong).
 
The winner will be announced on the same day. This event is free and open to the public.
 
 
Venue: Tegler Student Centre
Time: 9:30 a.m.
 
Repertoire:
Amber Campbell, clarinet (Aaron Copland: Concerto for Clarinet and String Orchestra)
Allan Nelson, violin (Prokofiev violin concerto no.1)
Stephanie Wong, oboe (Vaughan-Williams Oboe Concerto)
