Posted on: Mar 26, 2018

It is with great pleasure that Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) announces the appointment of Alison Yacyshyn, PhD, as its new Dean of Management, effective April 2018.

Dr. Yacyshyn has been Interim Dean since late summer 2017. Prior to this, she was Chair of CUE’s Mihalcheon School of Management where she also launched Alberta’s only Data Management emphasis for the Bachelor of Management program, including a Business Demography course. This initiave was in response to the business community’s feedback suggesting that graduates should understand how to work and analyze large data sets, and make business related decisions using data.

Students, faculty and staff alike enjoy Dr. Yacyshyn’s sharp intelligence, boundless energy, and attention to detail, along with her unstoppable good humour. She brings a wide range of experience teaching in post-secondaries in Alberta and Ontario, as well as working as senior demographer for the Government of Alberta. Her research profile, including publications and conference participation/organization, is robust and impressive.

CUE’s Faculty of Management is home to a highly innovative and flexible Bachelor of Management undergraduate program, including a Chemistry & Management Dual Degrees Program and an international Dual Degrees program with a renowned Chinese university (the Beijing Foreign Studies University). It also offers a graduate program with advanced cyber security and information assurance Masters degrees, and related graduate certificates and diplomas.
