Indigenous Winds

Fifteen sets of hands – 270 different instruments – a feast for the eyes and ears, Concordia’s School of Music invites you to its next concert: Indigenous Winds.

Jubiloso! Bells of Concordia is an Edmonton based ensemble that performs on the largest set of handbells and handchimes in Canada.  This concert features the Concordia Concert Choir and the premiere of the composer Todd Johnson’s work for handbells and didgeridoo.

In this concert Jubliloso conductor Debbie Rice is joined by Vancouver-based guest David Yates on the didgeridoo – a wind instrument developed by Indigenous Australians 1,500 years ago. Yates is a multi-disciplinary artist whose passions extend to hand percussion, native flute and other worldly instruments.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors, and are available at Tix on the Square, Concordia Student Accounts, or at the door. Special Family Admission: $40 is available at the door only.
