Su-Ling Goh, Health Reporter from Global Edmonton, visited our campus this morning to cover a new project that is being worked on in from our Allan Wachowich Centre, by the Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence (CAAI).
In the TV interview, President Tim Loreman and Ed Boraas, our Chief Information Officer and Chair of the AI research cluster, explain how our AI centre has built an algorithm that aims to improve CT scanning technology. The results, so far, are showing a significant reduction in patient radiation exposure as well as imagery that is acceptable and/or preferable to current standards.
Mike Wade, Director of our CAAI, was on hand to provide further details and a background on the project. Board member, Dan Lindsay, will also feature in the interview tonight. He was the radiologist who approached Mike and Ed with the project idea.
This is just one more awesome collaborative project that is being worked on in the Allan Wachowich Centre for Science, Research, and Innovation.
