AGE-WELL young entrepreneur award is accepting applications

AGE-WELL is accepting applications for the Agewell emerging entrepreneur award. Focus areas for this award are listed below:
1. Supportive homes and communities: Smart homes, Age-friendly communities
2. Health care and health service delivery: Nanotechnologies, wearable health technologies, telemedicine, medical management systems
3. Autonomy and independence: Assistive technology, stick-on-hip protectors
4. Cognitive health and dementia: Diagnostic and predictive tools, wandering detection, locator and GPS tracking devices
5. Mobility and transportation: Smart wheelchairs, autonomous vehicles, transportation service mobile applications
6. Health and lifestyle wellness: Wearables, health and fitness applications, virtual exercise systems
7. Staying connected: Mobile applications, social games, social and telepresence robots, friendly caller programs, virtual reality technology
8. Financial wellness and employment: financial mobile applications, cyber-security enhancement programs, technology based vocational programs, workplace accommodations
Award: $25000 + training and mentoring support from AGE-WELL. Award funds will flow as salary support in compliance with AGE-WELL grant administration guidelines and practices.
Eligibility: Students, post-doctoral fellows, or have graduated from your program or completed a post-doctoral fellowship within the last three years seeking to turn their innovation into a viable business through an existing or planned start-up company. A registered company is not required.
