You are invited to attend an Information Session and a Q&A with successful grant recipients Dr. Valerie Henitiuk and Dr. Tolly Bradford. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about how to apply for the SSHRC Insight Development Grants, as well as get valuable tips and suggestions from successful grant holders who have experienced the processes of this grant!
Information Session: How to Apply for the Insight Development Grant

Do you intend to apply to competition for the February 1, 2019 deadline? This session will provide potential applicants with an overview of the Insight Development Grants funding opportunity. Research Officer Lainna ElJabi will take participants through the application process, provide an overview of the application modules, and explain how applications are adjudicated.
*Special* From 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm, join us for a Q&A with successful grant recipients. Dr. Valerie Henitiuk and Dr. Tolly Bradford will be on hand to provide important tips and suggestions to assist applicants in creating a strong proposal.
Applicants in the SSHRC Insight Development Grants competition will be required to complete a Canadian Common CV (CCV) so plan to attend the CCV Workshop on November 27th as well!
Workshop: Canadian Common CV (CCV) Lab
November 27 | 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm | Room HA206
This lab is intended to guide applicants through the process of registering for a CCV account and creating a CCV for the IDG competition. Please bring your laptop and a copy of your CV for reference.

About the SSHRC Insight Development Grant The Insight Development Grant supports research in its initial stages and enables the development of new research questions, as well as experimentation with new methods, theoretical approaches and ideas. Funding for short-term research development projects, of up to two years, proposed by individuals or teams. At least half of the award budget is allocated to funding Emerging Scholars so it is an excellent opportunity for emerging scholars to launch their SSHRC-funding research programs!
