Hockey ‘Thunders Back’ after Tough Opener
Posted on: Nov 27, 2012With reference to an internal team joke, Coach Peacocke described last Friday night’s game against Augustana as “an all-time shellacking.” The Concordia Hockey team took a drubbing that evening, dropping a 10-2 decision to the defending ACAC Champion Augustana Vikings.
Back home on Saturday night, a much more determined group of guys showed up and dueled the Vikings to a 3 – 3 over time draw. “We still have a few more important lessons to learn, but we took a huge step forward to becoming a very solid team,” said Coach Peacocke.
With two more games this coming weekend against MacEwan before going into the Christmas break, the Thunder will have the opportunity to put the lessons learned into action.
The Thunder will host the Griffins on November 30 at 8:15 p.m. at Terwilligar Arena. They will face those same Griffins at Bill Hunter Arena on Saturday, December 1 at 8:15 p.m.
