Thunder Men’s Soccer Announces 2016-17 Recruits

The Thunder Men's Soccer program and Head Coach Ian Skitch are proud to present the first group of recruits that are going to be sporting the Thunder Navy and Gold come September.  Additional recruits are 'in the pipeline' but here are the first three from the Class of 2016-17.

Israel Olufuwa: Israel was born and raised in Nigeria and is a seasoned veteran of post-secondary athletics, having played 4 years with Covenant University FC in Ota, Nigeria. Israel Captained the team for two years, winning awards as MVP, a Golden Ball, a Silver Boot as well as numerous medals in his tenure with Covenant. Israel is coming to the Thunder as a graduate student and will be pursuing a Master's Degree in the Autumn.

Christian Hernandez: A product of the Soccer Academy at Edmonton's Archbishop O'Leary High School, the 5'10" Striker/Attacking Midfielder has been on the winning end of four provincial titles with Inter 98 and was a national finalist with them as well. Christian was also a participant on a St. Francis Xavier Academy team that went overseas to play in Italy last year.

Stephano Silva: Another graduate of Archbishop O'Leary High School, Stephano is also a club team veteran, having spent time with both the Drillers and Ital Canadians and was a USA Cup finalist. A versatile talent, Stephano can cover the field as both a Central Midfielder or a Defender and will be coming to Concordia in pursuit of a Bachelor of Management degree.
