Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) welcomes an investment of nearly $6.8 million over the next three years from the Government of Alberta through the latest round of its Targeted Enrolment Expansion (TEE) initiative. The funding will support continued growth in programs aligned with Alberta’s evolving workforce needs through 2028–29.
The latest round of TEE funding extends that momentum, supporting funded student spaces through 2028–29 in four programs:
This latest investment builds on significant provincial support for CUE in recent years. Through the first two rounds of TEE funding, CUE received $5,238,437 between 2022 and 2026 to support expanded enrolment in the Master of Information Systems Security Management and Master of Information Systems Assurance Management programs.
“This continued investment in CUE is an investment in students and in the skilled people Alberta needs,” said Dr. Tim Loreman, President and Vice-Chancellor. “From preparing more teachers for Alberta classrooms to developing expertise in data, analytics and cybersecurity, these programs connect students with rewarding career opportunities while helping respond to important workforce needs across our province.”
CUE also received $1.4 million in separate provincial funding last year to add an additional cohort to its Bachelor of Education (After Degree) program. While not part of the TEE initiative, that investment has helped CUE respond to growing demand for qualified teachers in Alberta.
Together, these investments are helping CUE expand capacity in areas of strong student and employer demand. They also demonstrate the University’s growing role in preparing graduates for fields that are increasingly important to Alberta’s communities, public services and economy.
CUE thanks the Government of Alberta for its continued investment in our students, our programs and the skilled workforce Alberta needs for the future.
