Swing into the festive season with the Concordia Concert Choir on Saturday, December 2 for an unforgettable evening of seasons music, old and new, in the sublime sanctuary of Holy Trinity Anglican Church!
“We are thrilled to invite the community to join us for an evening of festive choral music. Concordia’s flagship student Concert Choir, which includes 38 students from across all disciplines on CUE’s campus, are very excited to kick off the holiday season with this concert,” said John Brough, assistant professor of music and conductor of the Concordia Concert Choir.
Music will include the early Baroque polyphony of Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, as well as stirring arrangements of traditional carols by Dan Forrest, Matthew Cullton, and John Hoybye, and new carols composed by Don Macdonald, Sarah Quartel, Ola Gjeilo and more. There will even be some opportunities for you to sing your favourite Christmas carols along with the choir!
“Audience members will be immersed in the warm acoustics and inviting atmosphere of Holy Trinity Anglican Church where the spirit of the season comes alive through the singing of unique arrangements of familiar carols, as well as new compositions,” said Brough.
“Come and be part of a musical journey that will be sure to leave you filled with the joy of the holiday spirit.”
