What’s your favorite part about working with students? 

I love helping students feel more confident about their studies and ability to succeed.

What’s one thing about CUE you wish every student knew? 

If they ever have a question and they don’t know where to find the answer, they can always come to the Student Success Centre for help. If we can’t answer their question, we’ll tell them who can. 

If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be? 

Pay attention to the dates and deadlines in the Academic Schedule — they’re incredibly important!

Can you share an unusual or little-known fact about CUE? 

Apparently, the campus sits on top of a bunch of old coal mines.

How would you describe the spirit of our university in three words? 

Community, change, and lively

What’s your favorite thing to eat at our campus cafeteria or kiosk? 

Anything caffeinated (usually tea)

 If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be?

Get in the habit of checking your CUE email!

How would you describe the spirit of our university in three words? 

Opportunity, Diversity, Community

Where is your favorite spot near campus?

There are some benches on the bend of 75 Street and Ada Blvd that have a beautiful view of the city skyline.

What’s your favorite part about working with students?  

I enjoy being a friendly face they can come to if they have questions about financial aid.

What’s one thing about CUE you wish every student knew?  

If you are not sure of something, just ask!

If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be? 

School is just one part of your life journey. Take time to experience it fully and get to know your fellow students.

Can you share an unusual or little-known fact about CUE?

For many years, a porcupine lived in a tree (by the stairs) on the front lawn.

How would you describe the spirit of our university in three words? 

Let’s do this.

What’s your favorite thing to eat at our campus cafeteria or kiosk? 

Hot Chocolate

Where is your favorite spot near campus ? 

I love walking through the Highlands neighbourhood on my afternoon break. Apart from that, the front lawn in the spring/summer.

What’s your favorite part about working with students?  

My favourite part of working with students at the campus is that I get to know them better and look for opportunities where I am able to fulfill all their needs at the university. 

What’s one thing about CUE you wish every student knew?  

One thing about CUE that I want every student to know is that the community we study and learn in is the best in the city. Everyone loves the atmosphere around them and feels the welcoming breeze everywhere. 

If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be? 

I would like to tell students that whenever they feel like they require help, they can reach out to any office on campus, and they would be happy to help. 

Can you share an unusual or little-known fact about CUE?

For me the little-known fact about CUE would be that we have amazing scholarships, awards and financial aids provided to students. 

How would you describe the spirit of our university in three words? 

Calm, Motivated & Free-spirited.

What’s your favorite thing to eat at our campus cafeteria or kiosk? 

My favourite thing to eat at the campus cafeteria is the fries. 

Where is your favorite spot near campus ? 

I love to visit Kind Ice-cream that’s very close to the campus.

What’s your favorite part about working with students? 

I love digging into a research question with a student. I learn so much about many different topics and students are so excited to see what the library databases have to offer. 

What’s one thing about CUE you wish every student knew? 

That the library has a second floor. It should be obvious from the outside but every year we get third and fourth-year students who are surprised when we go upstairs.

If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be? 

There are so many great people at CUE who want to help you succeed in your studies and in life. If you are struggling please reach out for help. 

Can you share an unusual or little-known fact about CUE? 

Since CUE’s founding, students have been creating newspapers and other publications. The oldest newsletter was published in 1927 and you can find many of the old newsletters digitized in CUE’s Archive. 

How would you describe the spirit of our university in three words? 

Collaborative, Creative, Supportive

What’s your favorite thing to eat at our campus cafeteria or kiosk? 

I usually go for fries from the cafeteria and/or a chai latte with oat milk from the kiosk. 

Where is your favorite spot near campus (Example: restaurant, coffee shop park, etc)?

Mandolin Books & Coffee Company on 112 Ave in Highlands. It is a 15 min walk from campus and they have a lovely patio behind the bookstore that is perfect for enjoying a cup of tea.

What’s your favorite part about working with students?

I really enjoy getting to know each student and their life circumstances, goals and ambitions.

What’s one thing about CUE you wish every student knew?

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness.

If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be?

Your financial well-being matters. Make it a priority to develop the financial knowledge and skills so that you can make effective decisions about your finances and live a happy life within your means.

Can you share an unusual or little-known fact about CUE?

There used to be a tunnel between two old buildings (between Schwerman and Alumni Hall) and I know an alumnus who was dating during college and had their first kiss in that tunnel.

How would you describe the spirit of our university in three words?

We punch above our weight. Positive, people, purposeful

The hope and new possibilities they bring with them.

If you or someone you know needs help, ask for help from the university, we are here to help you.

Can you share an unusual or little-known fact about CUE? 

We used to have a hockey rink.

Emerging, changing and caring.

Coffee, I know it isn’t a food.

If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be?

Read the weekly student newsletter email (there’s so much good info about what’s happening at CUE in there!) and get involved on campus

Can you share an unusual or little-known fact about CUE?

Umm, not sure if it’s little-known…but CUE is over 100 years old!

How would you describe the spirit of our university in three words?

Pretty laid back

What’s your favorite thing to eat at our campus cafeteria or kiosk?

The flatbreads are quite tasty

Where is your favorite spot near campus?

Kind Ice Cream. It’s so good, I highly recommend trying it!  A 15-minute walk from campus (6507 112 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5W 0P1), just saying 😁

What’s your favorite part about working with students?

To feel students’ energy everyday . To see students’ young faces with hope on campus. To see their growth day by day, year by year.

What’s one thing about CUE you wish every student knew?

Students can always enter the offices to ask for help or chat about their life and learning. Do not feel scared to talk with staff and profs.

If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be?

Take advantage of CUE’s library , gym, shows, concerts, lectures, and broaden your experience and vision.

Can you share an unusual or little-known fact about CUE?

The Centre for Chinese Studies is a unique centre and only one of its kind in Canada to support CUE students in academic opportunities in China. For example, the 1+2+1 Dual Degrees on Management program. 

How would you describe the spirit of our university in three words?

Pre-eminent, friendly, liberal,

What’s your favorite part about working with students? 

Getting to know the students and helping them connect to the right supports on & off campus

What’s one thing about CUE you wish every student knew? 

If you have questions and you don’t know who to ask, then you should come to the Student Success Centre across from the Bookstore.

If you could give one piece of advice to students, what would it be? 

Getting a degree at CUE is literally your job for the next few years. Do it well. Review your course materials and attend classes. ask your instructor for help if you need it. Get to know other students and get involved in a study group. Your education experience is a time of your life that will go by quickly – enjoy the ride! 

Can you share an unusual or little-known fact about CUE?

If you are meeting a psych instructor in a room that starts with FH—know that means the Psychology building on the south/west corner of campus. FH used to mean Faculty House

How would you describe the spirit of our university in three words? 

Community, fun, dynamic

What’s your favorite thing to eat at our campus cafeteria or kiosk? 

Great specialty coffees at the kiosk.

Where is your favorite spot near campus ?

Highland Golf Club has a good menu, and you can order takeout. It is an easy walking distance from Campus.
