A Concordia Symphony Orchestra Concert

Sunday, April 13 – 2 p.m. – Robert Tegler Student Centre

For its last concert of the season, the Concordia Symphony Orchestra (CSO) presents one of Claude Debussy’s most famous works, his symphonic poem Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, considered by many to be the piece that brought classical music into the modern era.  As well, the CSO will present Canadian composer Oscar Morawetz’s joyous Carnival Overture. Although written in 1945, the harmonic language is that of the 19th century and incorporates the sounds of traditional Czech music, Morawetz’s country of birth. The concert ends with Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances, an arrangement of the best of the musical “West Side Story.”

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors, and are available at Tix on the Square, Concordia Student Accounts, or at the door. Special Family Admission: $40 is available at the door only.
